Boy, this won't take long.... Beautiful truck, wish I had the money.

That's a nice truck you have there, you should try ebay, they usually sell for more than you are asking.
Good luck David |

Several people have asked about the four (4) bolts in the left rear of the bed. These used to attach a tray that a 5-gallon GI-type metal gas can would set in. There were two of these trays, one on each side of the bed. This extra 10 gallons really extended the trucks range. Gas was cheaper, like it still is now, in the Phoenix area than in the surrounding towns and cities. There was a board between the tray and bed so as not to damage the bed. Actually, the entire bed has always been protected my a sheet of plywood. That is one of the reasons that the bed is in such good shape except for rubbing wear.

Thanks Ross and Jill for selling me this pickup. This is one sweet well documented and preserved original pickup and Ross is one of the nicest people I have ever met over the net. Now I have another friend in rust free Arizona! I'll be waiting for the day they show up for the dinner I owe them.....
This is worse than a kid waiting for Christmas morning....I can't start to say how excited I am to get my new toy home. Mark |
Sweet Mark, bring that thing down here for a road trip.!!!!!!:D

Mark! You suck!:D Just Kidding!! I am sooooo jealous! That is one sweet truck! Glad to see it sold here and not ebay.

This one is going home to its own heated garage space to be loved and preserved as an original survivor. I just kept thinking how many 4 wheel drive loaded Cheyenne shortboxes ever were ordered and driven without snow, salt, and abuse and remain totally rust free and accident free? And the perfect color combination to boot. I have never seen one like it or in this condition as it was truely cherished by Ross and the original owner Clyde since new and used like a Sunday driver. This 72 has all the original paint and it had a camper shell on it from new so the steel floor bed is impressive as well. Ross told me the tailgate was removed from new and stored for the first 22 years since the camper shell had a rear door and the gate trim is perfect. Great documentation and factory ordered by the original owner and so well preserved will make this a perfect dead stock survivor with a few NOS parts and light touch up. Might even have to break out the NOS cruise master kit and other goodies and replace only what is needed with NOS parts. I hope to post pictures when I get it delivered home and have time to check it all out. :) :) :)
You can be assured this one will never leave my stable as long as I am around.:D :D :D Just a couple more weeks.........Mark |
Sounds like a new proud papa........
