Hey guys any idea on how to or what to use to replace/install headliners in a '72 burb? one of mine had rear a/c but is missing. they did not do a very nice job of removal either. Thanks.

I am in the same boat as you... This is the only spot I have found that list's any kind of replacement headliner for our burbz. Although not OEM, it may fit the bill for the price!
Here's a link to the page: Suburban Headliners If anyone else know's of a source for the original perforated hardboard, let us know PLEASE!!! Good Luck! Joe |
"Calling Big Orange"...
because I remember he did this with his Burb. He used some Lowes/Home Depot material as backboard, etc. Can you help answer this question Donnie?
Thanks....7T1Burb |
ha ha I was just thinking about asking this question! And does anyone out there have any pics of the headliner kit from American Classics? wonder what it looks like?

OK guys here I am,sorry I dont have Big Orange anylonger so I dont checkout this part of the site, but anyway here's the way I did my headliner and Big Orange won 3 best interior awards at major car show and even won this award at PF at the Chevy,GMC Truck Nationals in 2002 so trust me when I say it will look good!
1st I went to Lowes and purchased some 1/4 flexable insulation board and trimmed it to fit inbetween the crossrails in the roof,I used a hot glue gun to put this in place with. 2nd I purchased white bathroom shower tile,it comes in 4x8 sheets and has a texured look to it, I measured my old pieces and had the matrial cut to fit except the front and the rear, you will need them longer so you can fit them yourself. This material is 1/8 thick and very flexable. 3rd I started at the front put a piece in then a bow,put a piece in then a bow and so on and so on 4th The last piece is a real pain to put in so be very carfull and take your time,it might even help to say alittle prayer I know thats what I had to do.lol hope this helps! Oh one last thing this whole project cost me around $85.00 and it was well worth it! |
Any Pics?
Hey big orange you got any pics of the finished project,if its not too much to ask. I will pm you too so if you see this ignore the pm! thanks

A big "THANKS" to....
Big Orange for providing what seems to be the one and only successful suburban headliner project completed to date. I suspect that it can be professionally done for big $$$$, but a home-grown replacement seems to be in order for many of us "BURBAN-HEADS".....
THANKS AGAIN....7T1BURB |
Sorry I cant find any pics of the headliner but you can ask anyone that new of it and they will tell ya that it was 1st class!!!
