where to get new leaf springs?
I've got an '89 suburban 1/2 ton 2wd. I think I've been talked into new leaf springs for the rear of a 3" lift, but where can I get them?? Most of the places that sell the lift kits don't seem to have them (unless I'm missing it). Do local places sell them? I imagine they're expensive to ship.
If I want to tow a class IV trailer about once a week but only for a few miles, will those be ok, or do I also need something else (meaning a helper spring, etc.) |
Hello,
Check with Summit Racing. I just bought 2 new pro comp 6" lift springs for the rear of my K-20, the shipping was under $20. If they don't have what you want, then I can dig up another outfit that I order the front 8" springs from. They only charged $35 to ship those. Good luck, Dana |
check also with jcwhitney they have alot of lift springs

pick up a Petersons 4wheel and off road. there are all sorts of ads for companies. a good company will sell you a set of springs, you shouldnt have to buy a complete kit.
you lifting mostly for looks? or do you plan on using it off road? minor or extreme? |
doing the list mostly for looks... I do plan on doing some minor offroading, but nothing major. Just really for looks and a little fun...

you might also look into a rear shackle conversion, you keep stock springs, just flip shackle to under the mount, i have heard that they arent good for towing, but do a search on here in the 4x4 forum and you should get quite a few threads.
