beater truck defined

I picked this truck up 7 years ago when I got a boat and the car doesn't go in the snow (plus the dog loved it). I never thought it would last more than a couple of years, since I can't kill it, I decided to fix it up alittle an give it a new engine (and fender).

With all your help I was able to fix up a 305 and am starting the swap. I'm sort of a novice here. I'm really good at taking stuff apart, but now i have to put it together and make it work.

Based on all the rest of your trucks, mine is strictly a beater, but I'm counting on you guys to be around when I'm ready to fire up the new engine.

Duh!!! The truck's got a bowtie (or at least the GMC logo) on it, doesn't it? Pretty bold of you to think you could kill it that easily, don't you think???? :D

A Chevy "beater" is just a diamond that needs some "polishing". Looks like you've got some work ahead of you, but just remember, it's all good times. :D

:canada: :bowtie: :flag:

1985K10 - Do you have a battery tray in good shape to sell?

Greg, so you know, you will have the body off of the frame before you know it. My truck started out as a beater, a little over a year ago. I brought it to work with me to replace the passenger side rocker panel, and it got out of hand. There was a little rust in the front fenders, had to take the right side off to get to the rocker, so.... had to set the hood loose on that side, and set the bed back to fix the cab corner also.... by the end of the afternoon, the stripped cab was all that was left on the frame. After replacing the front sheetmetal, doors, bed, interior, and a host of other things, it's not really a beater anymore.
