installing distributor?
 

what all do i need to do to make sure my disturbutor is installed correctly? the rotor should point to the #1 plug wire, correct?

i belive i have the engine at TDC, but how should i make sure. i heard air coming out of the #1 spark plug hole, but i wanna make sure. the balancer is set at 0 degrees, so with that along with the air coming out, should that be the definant TDC?

when i drop the distrubutor in, the rotor will turn as the gears line up, correct?

Yeah, the distributor will turn some clock-wise I think when you put it in.

Looks like your a computer guy too, I can tell by that case, thats actually how I made money for my truck until I got a part-time job at a resteraunt.

Is that a Lian-Li case per chance? I noticed it looks like an aluminum case...

My friend built a machine a while back with an LCD and used a YY-Cube case and modded it out with a window, lights and all that good stuff. He was building it to take it to college with him and it fit in his room perfectly. The YY-Cubes aren't cheap though, neither are the aluminum Lian-Lis. I want a clear acrylic case myself, right now I have a modded Antec that I painted to match my truck and put a window and Cold Cathode light in. If you want to mod stuff and stand out now you have to so some crazy stuff, Best Buy is selling window/light kits on the shelf now, so everybody has them.

Mike read your instructions about the dist install one question. I will be removing my stoke one and replacing it with the msd also. The marks and all sound right but if I am putting in a new dist. Those marks will not help right? Since they will be on old dist?

Also you do have to remove the orings if you block is not made for them right?

Get it to TDC, or rather stop where you want the timing to be like I say in the article. Then just drop it in like normal and make sure the rotor points to the number one tower on the cap. When it's in and the cap on, it should be in a similar position as this photo.

JUST A NOTE GUY'S

the stock dizzy has two beveled edges at the bottom where the
dizzy engauges at the oil pump rod...helps...TONS WHEN INSTALLING A STOCK...DIZZY...getting it to drop all the way in....


WHERE THE M.S.D. dizzy does not....

it can be a real pain in the ARSH.....

I LINED MINE UP WITH #1 CYL...ON TDC....
while pushing down on the rotor ......had my son trun it over..

and...WAMMO DOWN SHE DROPPED....
