hi

do you have a late 60s xmember ? why not just use a 73-87

Yes... any front cross member from late 60's thru 87 will interchange. When using a c-member from the 73-ups, there are a couple of holes in the frame (one on each side) that require 'ovaling' to be able to get the bolts in. The disc brake c-members typically have the larger u-bolts (9/16" vs. 1/2") for mounting the lower control arms & are stronger (plus you can use the late model control arm rubber bushings for a better ride).

i have a 72 3/4 ton xmember with 8 lug disc brakes

Is the crossmember from the 70 3/4 ton going to a 62 3/4 ton frame? I believe the 3/4 ton frames are different (taller) than 1/2 ton frames.
