what would a good bed go for in your area?
Im looking for a new short/fleet bed for my 79, probably need a tailgate too as the person I bought one from never shipped it :( Just need a strait bed, color and finish don't matter one bit.
Anyways what am I going to be looking at cost wise? Im hoping around $100..... |
in my area they go for $250 and some of them need repair a good one costs alot more too!! where you are in the land of no rust they prolly go for more!

your tellin me rol my step side needs some attention
|
Tom, up here in MN a rust free bed will go for $500 minimum...unless you get lucky and find a un-educated seller, or even luckier, find someone who "just needs it gone".
|
Here in the east RUST coast,a good bed goes for 500.00 min,a nice bed goes for 1000.00 or more.

i cant give my longbed away. its got some minor rust, but WAY better than anything else around here. i had it priced at $250, and no takers. the bed floor on it is 100% virgin, has had a bedliner in it since 1986.

yes, virgin is good. like no damage from ANYTHING. nothing has ever touched it, except the bedliner. i wish you were closer, i'd take that abused tweaked piece of scrap from you. i pulled the bedmat up on my SWB bed, and saw the floor... the GARAGE floor. i was so pissed, but im over it now, because i'm just going to trash it anyways.

remembering that sellers description of 'nice' seems to be alot different than mine, but yes tom near you, in the desert , and the southwest the shortbeds in good shape are much more plentiful. Around here a good LWB box is as easy to sell as a SWB . a truly 'nice' one here can bring easy 400- $500. the guy that sets up across from GMC paul at ALL - TRUCK Carlisle in Pa. has them for $800 and lots of SOLD signs on them.DAVE
