I haven't seen this addressed lately. Does some one sell a whole aftermarket steel bedflooor that could be used to replaced a damaged one? I have seen a smooth steel one in one of our vintage stepsides and also seen a ribbed steel floor in a 30's-50's vintage stepside at car shows. I would think there is demand enough to do a nice steel floor verse a popular and high maintenance wood floor. I would be ok with ribs not being stock but the ability to fit it in to look right.

I've seen replacement steel floors for SWB's but they are split in two. I've never seen any for a long bed anywhere. I think the biggest issue is shipping. A complete bed floor is just too big to ship economically. That's the reason they are only offered split. This is the advantage of the wood floor and the reason most convert to wood is it is a bunch of small pieces and can be shipped easier. If you find anything let us all know.... ;)

a co. makes long bed floors... they are cut in 1/2 but cant remember the name..... i think it was rolling steal but i am not 100%

Part of the problem is the floor supports rust out when the floor does so you wind up having to get supports as well--very pricy and a lot of work. Almost better finding a used bed! Don't expect anyone to make replacement floors anytime soon.

I'm getting ready to redo my steel bedfloor. my factory bedfloor is rotted in the usual places - overtop of each crosspiece. So I'm going to cut strips from my donor bedfloor & weld them in. I'm aware that repop cross pieces are expensive & I was realizing that the reason the bed rusted out in the first place was because the cross pieces are open at the top.... I figured that making my own crosspieces from square tubing will eliminate my rust problem & make it stronger overall. I just gotta slip down to Brunswick Steel & get the right diameters.
