battery

I dont understand why a suburban would take a different battery then a pickup, but without the listing they may not be able to warrant it. I have never purchased one for my Suburban but it has a large "EXIDE" which it came with and it works fine.I believe that any brand will probably do fine, large ones seem to have more storage .I try to keep my cars with original equipment "Delco"

Maybe its because of the cranking amps...

Does it draw anymore than a 350 to start it....

I have a 70 with a 402 BB and went down the local NAPA store and got a red top OPTIMA for $120.00. Dropped in and works fine.

I would have to agree with the others. I wouldnt see why the napa would say that it is a different battery. ask them about the same year pickup with a 350. sometimes that works for me. Optima is the best that is all we use in the navy for our ground support. Inless you have a continious short.
