I have a '69 Gmc 2wd with a 350/th-400, and it came with the bracket on the right, and I have a '69 chevy 2wd that had a 396/th-400, and it has the bracket in the middle. So, I believe it is BB/SB that made the difference in the bracket, and not the trans.
