I have had nothing but bad luck on the cheaper thermostats. Try and buy the best they have when you go to the auto supply store. That is the same problem I have had on several different type of vehicles. They would last about a year and then the heater would take foreever to get warm. Replace the thermostat and it would fix the problem.
