You can still get OEM hood hinges from a GM dealer. The pair I got last summer looked like they were just built, not rusting on a shelf for 30 years. You do pay for it, though. As far as chroming them -- I don't know. Wouldn't the chrome get in the way of the action of the pressed rivet pins? Can you chrome a spring without it spraying little chrome flakes all over the fender skirt whenever it flexes? I'd go with classic low gloss satin black myself.
