Sales tax is 7% in Manitoba on a used vehicle if its a private sale of a used vehicle.
It is 7% provincial tax (PST) and an additional 7% Goods and Services Tax (GST) for a total of 14% if you buy from a licensed dealer or a New vehicle.

I bought my Tow truck in another province...Sakatchewan.... and he wanted both taxes..I wouldn't pay because I ssai9d it was going out of province....i ended up paying him 7% GST because he was a licensed business selling his company vehicle. I'm not sure if that was the correct thing to do but I had a schedule to keep and time was more important than the money at the time.

Buying from the United States to Canada has its own interesting scenarios. Thats another thread in its own.
