Whatever you do to make your truck less vulnerable to theft, chain the hood down. You can encase the chain in a bicycle tube to protect the finish. Lock the chain to the frame where it's accessable on your feet, but not easy to bolt cut the lock or chain. You can also have thick wire rope with loop ends made to fit, vice a chain. Encase it in vinyl hose prior to putting end loops on.

With the truck self-disabled each night and the hood chained down, towing is prolly the only easy way to steal it.
