I have a Sony 5.0 Megapixel with avi video, and I love it. I have an off-brand memory stick in it, and it works perfectly. My previous camera was an olympus 2.1 megapixel, and I hated it. There's a huge picture-taking delay, and the flash still had problems illuminating a picture that was taken at dusk. Maybe all Olympus digital cameras aren't that way though.
A friend of mine has an HP photosmart (older one), and is having some major issues with the batteries, and he doesn't like the pic quality 3.2 megapixel (I think).
Another friend has a Canon Powershot, and has been happy with it for a long time. He's had it for I think 2 years now, and it has given him no problems.
