The only price difference I could think of would be for pre-76 dana 44's with the flat top passenger side knuckle, because the tie rod end (the long one) is about $90 more than one for a 76+ D44 and the 10 bolt. 10 bolts were used in '79, so I don't know what the 80/81 split price difference could be for.
