These shows drive me nuts. It's like "This Old House" or "They Yankee Workshop", or especially "Crank and Chrome". Sure, you could turn out a beautiful piece of craftsmanship if you had a 4000 sq. ft. garage, every Snap-On tool ever made, the budget of a small city, and plenty of spare time (in which you're paid hansomly).
It is fun to see the conversions, and the ideas they have. You just can't get wrapped around the idea that you could do the same thing just as easy. For every second of filming for the show there's probably 4 hours of work to make it look simple.
