I had the same problem with LMC bumpers I bought. They didn't "pit" but I used "mothers" chrome polish on them when I bought them and they have still faded and peeled. They looked great for about 2 years.... If the PO hadn't twisted up the original front bumper I could have shined it up...and it's 30 some years old!
