If it is the LT1, you'll want to use it, as for the electrics there are several people who make stand alone harnesses for putting an LT1 in a different vehicle, as for the opti, you can eliminate it by using a coil on plug ignition (it's actually one coil for 2 plugs), you could also run a conventional distributor on it, it does require some machine work but it is possible.
