One of my upper bolts that secure the spring to the frame was so badly rusted that a breaker bar sheared the head right off, 3/4 incher. Other than that, it was a snap. I did also vice grip the lower spring/cup assy to the frame to hold it in place when I took it off and re-assembled it. I just could not get a good angle on the square keeper inside of the cup to hold it in place. Don't know if the earlier models are set up like my 71 frame is, but that's what I did.
