I have a 70' also. I recently added new carpet and I had to cut a "Rectangle" the same size as the base of the pedal in the carpet. It worked perfect with no problems at all. Start by cutting the rectangle small and expand it as necessary to get pedal pressed down on the 2 little balls. Good luck!
