If I understand your problem correctly---what to do with the pedal mounting on the floor via cutting carpet----why not simply upgrade to a 72 type pedal asm with a cable which mounts up higher on the firewall thereby eliminating any carpet cutting entirely. You will need the carb linkage mount that goes on the intake, cable, firewall pedal mount as well but you could probably pick up the hole thing for a few dollars from a junk 72!? Then you could remove the old style pedal mounting balls and off you go~~~. Or, don't I understand something here~~~~? Huck
