You may hear that door repro panels are not very good, but there is more than one company making them. What, exactly, was wrong with yours? The good ones are colored not painted. So far only Black, Blue & Green are available...so, you still have to paint to get white, and that doesn't work very well. I don't know if white colored ones are coming. One of the other venders may know more.
My repro panels have a sticker on the inside of one that reads " Dashtop by Palco Industries INC, made in USA Reno Neveda". To begin with they aren't molded the same as the original panels. Instead of overlaping the recessed area of the door like the factory ones do they just roll down into this same area. This makes the panels both shorter and more narrow than original parts. Mine were not woodgrain but had the stainless trim on them, I tried to swap the trim and the area where it would go was nowhere near the same size. Instead of being molded as one piece there is a main piece with seperate pieces for the clips glued to them. Every time I have tried to remove the panels to work inside the doors the plastic that holds the clips breaks off of the main panel! I was already unhappy with how they looked but when I can't remove them without breaking them I just want to throw them out. I would buy more repro panels if I could find better ones. I just don't see spending money on some that are as poorly made as what I already have.
