Gotcha. I would probably want to work on or replace the tranny before I got rid of the L6 motor. In fact, I'm actually thinking about keeping an L6 in the truck, as silly as that may sound. I have a temporary/donor L6/250 engine coming intomorrow (only $300 to buy with lots of performance parts attached) and it's going in when I get it home. I'm going to rebuild the original L6 while it's out of the truck, then mix and match parts when I finish the rebuild, then drop the original motor back in. Would love to do a tranny swap also, just gotta find something that will mate up to the L6. What else goes with it?

My daily driver is a fully loaded '04 Honda Accord . My previous daily driver was an '03 GMC Sierra SLE 4door with power everything. I haven't had a non-power vehicle since high school - my 1989 GMC S-15. It's just a little tough to regress a little bit!
