When I bought my 72, the guy included new rockers, floor panels, quarter panel halves, and these things I think are the rocker boxes. They are definitely aftermarket pieces, not NOS. They dont have that metal rod in them so I question if they are the same as what you are talking about. I will do some research, or see if they have part numbers on them. They are new and have been sitting in my shed for 10 yrs.
