I'm about to go through this myself. I think what you have to do is align the doors to the main tub, preferably with the top on, at the rear door line. Then you use spacers on the front fenders to line them up to the doors. The reason I believe this is because the firewall through the tub is an integral unit, AND the front clip is removable from the unit, AND I have a spacer/ washer kit from GM for the front clip. Don't hold this as the gospel from an expert. It just seemed to be the easiest way to do it after I looked long and hard. Let me know what you think.
