Thats what I'm running 348/420. The 348 has great torque. This one is rated at 250hp and 355lbf factory. It gets about the same gas milage with the holley as my 350 truck gets with a q-jet. The 420 is a little noisy and doesn't have an overdrive but is one of the best/strongest 4 speed trannys out there.
If you can find one cheep then great... But they are alot more spendy then a 350. I lucked out and got this one for a case of beer. I have 160$ into the whole truck and am using it as a DD right now
