I had a F*&D Bronco that had an issue like this, after driving I would try to start it and nothing. In my case these guys were correct, it was heat. A trick to find out if it is the heat was shown to me by an old man at the gas station I was stuck at. Get a cup or 2 of cold water and slowly pour it over the starter. This will cool it off and if heat is the issue it should start up.
