I've got Vortechs on my 350. Stock they can handle up to .470" lift, I had my valve guides cut down .100" anticipating a bigger cam than I actually ended up with. This would have allowed for .570". (Not that I actually considered that much lobe......) The cam I ended up with was CompCams Extreme Energy 262H. .460" intake, .469 Exhaust.
Duration at .050" is 218/224. with this cam, Edelbrock Performer manifold, ceramacoat headers, HEI ignition, and 750 cfm Edelbrock, I dynoed at 380 horsepower at 4800 rpm, and 445 ft/lbs torque at 3800 rpm. Torque stays over 400 ft/lbs from 2800 to 5500 rpm. Great street motor, used lower RPM range manifold because of my 3.07 rearend gears. This engine idles fine at 600 rpm, and I run it on 89 octane fuel. Hope this helps.
