I think the brackets are diffrent. I tried to upgrade the radiator in my 72 GMC Automatic trans. from a 2 core to a 4. Didn't fit on the bottom, even with larger 4 core brackets on the top. The brackets on the bottom of your 67 will need to be drilled out (they are sort of spot welded in) and a wider set installed if you wish to install a 4 core.
You should be able to drop in a 3 core no problem.
You don't really need a 4 core anyways unless you live in Arazona, have AC, and tow a trailer.
You could have the parts house get you a 4 core. Just tell them up front that it may not fit, and you may need to bring it back and exchange it for a 3 core.
The part that frustrated me was the 4 core was only somthing like $20 more or somthing, and it wouldn't fit!
