
From the NW. The V-8 swap is easy, as long as you stay with the same tranny. Motor mounts, exhaust, some carb linkage, a gas line and maybe a fan shroud? When you talk about changing shifter & pedals and it can be a bit of a hassle but not by no means impossible. Leaf vs. Coil.... that depends on what you want the finished product to be, street crusier, work truck, slammed show truck maybe? The 71 & 72 trucks already have disk brakes but it really is up to you as far as what you like. There are 3 differnt front ends to choose from for Chevy's and a couple more in the GMC line, but you can always interchange to suit your style. General rule of thumb is the more factory gagets, the more vaulable the truck. AC is just one to add to a very big list. Tachs, tilt columns, shoulder belts, cruise controls, speedwarnings, CST, Custom Cab, Cheyenne packages and Longhorn are many of the crowd favorites. Take a look into the VIN numbers for trucks, copy it down and take it with you before you buy anything check it out! Question the seller about whatever does not match the VIN numbers.

Always check the door post VIN and the one on the glove box to see if they match the rest of the truck and the title. An old army buddy of mine bought a 68 K20, and later found out the cab was from a 2wd truck. If you have a digi camera take a few pics, post them here and ask for advice. There are many experts among us who can spot the difference between fly poop & pepper. Good Luck
