No it doesn't need any kind of ram air. All 2001 and 2002 F-bodies recieved the LS6 intake. All you need is a better cam to take advantage of the top end on that motor especially with the LS6 intake. Look for a mid to high 22X/22X with 570<600 lift range and you should really wake it up. You would be alot better off doing it now when the motor is out. A smaller but great cam is the 02+ Z06 cam/springs. I can get those for 200 shipped to you with very low milage, in the 2-8K range.
