they are not the same. the six being a longer motor. I put in the stock v8 mounts but i put them in the six position which moved my motor forward. didn't notice until i went to buy headers. it gave me plenty of trans clearance with the cowl and the distributor comes out easier but i was forced to use full length headers and rebend all the brake lines to clear them. they are supposed to be back in the second set of holes. I talked to a guy who runs a local speed shop here and he had done the same thing but he says he prefers it that way. The only other problem i have is I am running a flex fan and i can't seem to find a fan shroud that will fit right now that the motor is further forward
