I am trying to get a truck from Muscle Shoals to Indianapolis. I did a search on ebay and found several independent haulers and a few big operators. The average rate for the independents seems to be $0.90 - 1.00 per mile. I had some quotes from the bigger guys in the range of $700-900 for the 450 mile haul.
The problem I see with the independents is getting them to follow through on a promise.
The truck must at least roll and steer, for anyone to want to deal with it.
