Cool 1406

I've don this with a stock Q-Jet to the 1406.

Will I notice a performance difference between the q-jet and the Edelbrock performer?
- Yes! Sounds better and Performs better - comparatively. BUT, Check the jetting charts for your altitude. They're benched for sea level and I'm at 4800 feet. You can get the approprate jets for about $9 bucks from Summit.

Anyone make the switch and noticed less power?
- I got more power and better throttle. Be carefule with linkage though.

Are these performer carbs easy to rebuilt and adjust?
- Haven't needed rebuild yet.

I want something easier to adjust and easy to rebuild. Will I be able to hook up all my vacuum lines for emissions?
- No problems. Above & below throttle connections and booster.

I heard before that you may fail for having this carb on a truck that came with a q-jet.
- Not sure there. No probs here in Reno.

Edelbrock's website says this carb is not legal for pollution controlled vehicles.
Anything I should expect (different parts, etc.) if I do make the switch?
My engine is the standard crate 350 (not performance).
- Same engine as me. You may need to go with the EGR model (1407??)

Anyway, I dig my Edelbrock. And it looks great! Not that that helps with performance or emissions.
