its most definately fixable. a friend of mine has a 71 Cutlass which rhe ran a wire through the firewall for his volt gage 7 had the excact thing happen. I gutted the whole thing out & used simple green. then started the rebuild. its even better now.
at least no one got injured physically. if nothing else this serves as a lesson to all of us to make sure our trucks are safe.
