I used some universal straight 5/8 size brake line from the parts store and some quality time with my sears tubing bender and made a hard line from pump to carb. Edelbrock has a fitting to use the 5/8 steel line for around $10. The cheapo parts store $20 double flare tools work ok too. And you can use the tubing bender around the house (good excuse for spouse). Having the old q-jet hard line helped for a template on the pump end of things.
I also have the fuel filter under the cab, maybe it will help the fuel pump last longer...
