I have tried many different types of plugs in my vehicles. The hands down winner in my experience has been the AC RapidFire plugs. I am currently running these in my 67, with a .045 gap. They are very responsive and smooth idling. I have also had resonably good luck with Bosch Platinum plugs - they run smooth, but feel less responsive than the Rapid Fires.
