drop a 72 will this work?

if I got that new crossmember and then did a body drop like 2". could I sit atleast 1" or 1/2" off the ground with a bag system w/o haveing to have the hole in the bed? what would you guys recommend for trying to sit low w/o a hole in the bed because I don't want my 72' looking like that =/. I like to use my bed hehe ;-).
