I have the same problem and asked the same question a while back, didn't get an answer on who used the patch panel. One person had a thread where the guy took both the top roof and inner roof off, used a full inner replacement, which is what I need since mine is even rusted above the doors. I am tempted to bondo it and put a fabric headliner over it. Another way mentioned is to use a good complete roof and cut it at the pillars, kind of like chopping a top, less to weld but have to make sure measurements are exact. I have found a roof for $50, may go that way, may even think about chopping it as well. One buddy says he is going to chop his roof and cut the glass using a sandblaster.
