Mine is also towards the front of the opening. The front of the spring is bolted to the frame. The rear of the spring is attached with an extra swivel point. This will provide the movement that is necessary when you load the pickup (the spring is effectively longer with the full load). I believe the wheel will be closer to centered when the pickup is full loaded. If they were centered with no load, I don't think it would hit with full load, but it might be close.
