It is still a Dana 44. Some 1969 trucks have it, some don't. My '69 K5 has an open knuckle D44.
Parts as you are realizing are hard to come by, I agree with the above swap it out. 69-70 (drum) or 71-72 (disc) is a bolt-in. 73-77 (disc) is also pretty straight swap. 78-79 might need new brake lines (some have corporate 10-bolt with 10mm fittings), 80-91 need new brake lines. From what I understand the steering components and springs all line up on the front axles.
