All depends on your state.
Ohio will let you do this, only if you are registered as a historical vehicle, and that severly limits the amount of driving you can do.
IMO, the state is giving up some free revenue by not letting us run dated tags. I know I for one would be willing to cough up an extra 5 or 10 bucks a year to do this. So figure that number, plus, the savings of not having to make my new plates...
But hey, what do i know.
