Although your newly found brass fire extinguisher might look nice you are dealing with a device that has been considered as obsolete for a long time. That’s why you don’t see that type of extinguisher around any longer. In big letters on the black label at the bottom of the unit you can see the words DANGER POISON. The chemical used in this extinguisher was found to be a carcinogenic, that why they were discontinued. Although it looks nice I would suggest that if you want to put a fire extinguisher in your truck you should opt for a new more efficient and safer modern one. You can even find a nice chrome one if you want to pay the price. I don’t suggest that you empty your brass unit and use it because of the danger of the chemical. Also if you mount a non-functioning unit in your truck it will give a false impression of having a fire extinguisher in your truck.
