Assuming an installed engine, the casting number is found at the back driver's side of the engine, just infront of where the tranny bolts to it.

I think there is another way to identify it as well, as that can be kinda tough to see, but I'm not sure how.

Check www.mortec.com -- They should have instruction on where to find the casting numbers, and what they mean there
