The bed you are referring to is a 88-98 Silverado stepside bed. I don't know what all it takes to install one, but I think it is fairly simple. Some people dont like them because the wheel arches are different. You can use any bed you want and be creative. I've seen one truck with a 88-98 fleetside bed cut down to a stepside width with 67-72 stepside fenders grafted on it, that baby looked sweet.
