When i use waxoyl i warm it and mix 50/50 with clean motor oil. the oil helps the waxoyl creep into existing rust. the waxoyl stiffins slightly and creates a waxy barrier robbing rust of air and moisture (what it needs to survive). don't use used motor oil. it contains impurities which can promote rust (or so i've been told).
