i actually just reupholstered my original bench. the one that was in it was from a '96ish ford. it's been in there since '96, and i had forgotten just how big the original was. the ford seat didn't bolt right in. i had to weld a couple of flat plates to the legs to get the holes to line up. imo this is a great seat for our trucks, esp. the earlier ones with squared-off headrests (mine are the taller, rounded ones.) the seat was very comfy and sat a little lower. the back was thinner by a few inches, so it also provided more legroom. for what i spent to redo my old one, i prolly should have just had that one upholstered in factory-matching fabric. plus, the integrated removable cup holder...
you can see the kind i'm talking about below. might have looked great reupholstered...
maybe i still will...someday.
