i would probably fence it off also.
you know, there is some new thing out there where you use salt or some crap with your pump and filtration system and it keeps your pool clean with no chemicals at all. at least i think that's how it works. someone else here at hte forum knows, because i learned about it the first time by reading their post. i think you just stick a chunk of salt in the filter or some crap.
