centering the wheel

i've noticed that most of the lowered truck i see have this problem. the wheel/tire sets back in the opening. right now i have my crossmember out (doing a notch) and when i put it back in i figured i could fix the problem by moving the crossmember forward. i know i will run into steering issues, but i have that covered. my question is does anybody know how far it will need to be moved forward in order for it to be centered.

thanks in advance, brandon.
